I started making plain challah. The most creative I got was to add sesame seeds! Then I went to visit my cousins who have four kids under the age of ten. They challenged me to make colored bread. So I did! It was beautiful. We added raisins. I thought that was as far as I could go.

When I got to Boise, my friend Eldon challenged me to add other items. Nuts, chocolate chips, cheese, seeds. I started creating artesian bread. Eldon got super creative and made cacio et pepe challah. Delicious!

I rarely bake a plain challah anymore as the combinations have become so interesting and I keep my “customers” guessing. My favorite? CHOCOLATE!

Of course I think the challah is delicious, but don’t take my word for it!
